Hunting is a popular activity in many of Linn County’s parks.  The following parks have various hunting opportunities. Please remember that all Iowa hunting laws apply in Linn County parks.  For more information about hunting laws, visit the Iowa Department of Natural Resource’s website.

Blue Creek Natural Area: This  70 acre area is managed for wildlife.  The hunting of deer is PROHIBITED on this property as it is a sanctuary for deer finding refuge here during all deer hunting seasons. This natural area is open to all other pursuit of game species during the appropriate seasons.

Chain Lakes Natural Area:  This 373 acre natural area is open for public hunting.

Goose Pond Natural Area: This 296 acre natural area is open for public hunting.

Harold & Ruth Rehrauer Natural Area: This 80 acre natural area is open for public hunting.

Otter Creek Natural Area:  This 37-acre natural area is open for bow hunting only.

Palo Marsh Natural Area: This 144 acre natural area is open for public hunting.

Pinicon Ridge Park: To the north of Valley Farm Road, there is a small area open for hunting.

South Cedar Natural Area: This 162 acre natural area is open for public hunting.

Wickiup Hill Natural Area: This 730 acre natural area is open for hunting during season, however, there are restrictions near the Wickiup Hill Learning Center
